The School of Communication Foundations
We desire to train up the next generation of missionaries in effective communication.
We are called to be communicators.
God, being the author of communication and relationships, desires us to see the importance and value of communication like He does. Without communication, we can neither respond to God nor reach a world that is longing for meaningful relationships. Through this course, you will get a greater understanding of the Great Communicator. The SCF offers a holistic approach to what it means to be a Biblical communicator, taking an understanding of God, self, and others to a new level. It will require humility, humor and engagement to step out of comfort zones, take more risks, and work hard on the multiple assignments – but we are in this together!
This course takes you on a journey from the basics of communication to a depth of understanding and growth in giving and receiving feedback, conflict resolution, alongside practicing writing and speaking skills. The leader of the SCF is the Founder and Author of Communication, Himself.
Topics:
· Communication models and foundations
· Public Speaking: preparing, delivering, and evaluating a message; speech work and techniques
· Research Writing: writing a paper on either an unreached peoples group, or a marginal group in society
· Creative and Professional Writing: developing writing skills, tools and presenting your own work in public
· The Art of Feedback and Listening Skills
· Biblical Worldview and the spheres of society
· Cross-Cultural Communication: non-verbal communication, understanding of cultural codes, dynamics and barriers
· Godly Communication: Biblical principles for effective communication
· Interpersonal Communication: conflict resolution, assumptions, and relational matters This course takes you on a journey from the communication basics to a depth of understanding and growth in giving and receiving feedback, conflict resolution, alongside practicing writing and speaking skills.

We are also running this school as a part of our two-year Missions Equip degree program. Some of the students will be participants in MEQ but this school is open for outside students as well!
