family ministries

We have recognized that the foundation for a healthy and God-led life is first of all laid in the context of the family. Since 1976, Family Ministries Norway has helped countless families and individuals into a richer life of faith, strengthened lifelong commitments, and equipped a generation for missions.

We still do this today through a variety of weekend events, family camps, family missions trips (family adventures), as well as through our regional work. Today we have 14 active regions spread throughout every part of Norway. Family Ministries is the largest non-government family work in Norway.

We run a DTS and a second level school: The Family Elective DTS and the Family Ministry School (FMS). These schools will equip you as a family to follow Jesus and position you to help others in their relationships and life situations.

We believe that God’s principles for interpersonal relationships and family life are as relevant now as ever. The needs and opportunities are endless. Would you consider joining us, bringing deep change to the families of Norway and the world?

In being a part of Family Ministries Norway you might work on planning and leading some of our events, or through hands-on ministry, including family counseling or pre-marriage training. We need administrators, school staff, regional staff and camp leaders.

We offer the following events and weeekend courses:

Every summer, 300 families attend at least one of our family camps around Norway.
Family camps consist of five days of practical teaching about life together as a couple and family. Biblical foundations for healthy families and relationships are at the core of our teaching. Family camps also consist of worship times, family activities and time for relaxation.

We offer weekend seminars designed to equip engaged couples for their coming marriage, or to help newlyweds get off to a great start. Falling in love is easy, but maintaining love is an ongoing process throughout the marriage. Come and be equipped!

The world is getting smaller, and intercultural marriages are becoming more and more common. This course has been adapted for the special challenges experienced in these marriages. Some of the topics covered include communication, relationships with in-laws, conflict resolution, sex, and cultural awareness.

Family Adventures is a program working to support short term missions and stand together with the local church. We believe in families working together in missions. It is our hope to bring two or more families from the same church together to go out on short term missions trips.
Family Focus works to see families restored, strengthened, equipped, mobilized and sent out in ministry. Family Adventures is a part of this vision.
