About the farm
Vision
The entire surplus from farming goes to YWAM Grimerud, but that is not the main goal. Rather it is a side-effect. The vision for the farming is “With Jesus on the countryside”. We believe that evangelism and practical work can go hand in hand!
By being present and active in the local area, we believe that we can be involved in bringing and seeing a change locally, which in turn will affect people far outside our borders.
Description
Grimerud farm is just over 120 acres in size and about 100 of these is famed land. We also help some neighbours run some of their farmland. We mostly farm wheat and other grain. We rent out some of the land to other farmers that are growing potatoes and grass.
We also have a little pony and some sheep.
We cooperate closely with several of our neighbouring farmers in regards to equipment. There is a strong link between the running of the farm and the practical department at YWAM Grimerud.
In 2007 we built a hay furnace for the purpose of heating the houses at the centre during winter, here we produce about 500 000 kWh of heat yearly.
