Testimonies from MA 2010
There was a day when we were on a treasure hunt.
Before we went, we asked God if there was someone he wanted us to bless in a special way that day. I got a picture of a lady with a red sweater with a pattern, who was carrying a child. However, when we went on the treasure hunt that day, I never saw the lady.
The next day we were in the ghetto, having street meetings for children. After the meeting we walked around in the slum for a couple of hours.
That's when I saw the lady, whom God had shown me the day before. So we went over to the lady and got to pray for her. I never knew why God showed me the lady, but perhaps it meant something to her, without me knowing it.
This was my testimony from Mission Adventures. It is not very special, but it did something in me and I understood that God can use little me!
That is really cool for me to think about!

I will never forget what God did for me
It was a night with heavy rain and we were back in the church after having been to a concert. On the way down to the church common room, I slipped and fell down the stairs. I shattered a rib, and struck the right side of my body. I could not move without pain ... it even hurt to breathe.
The day after, the others went out to buy ice cream while I was sitting alone in the church. The Bible was laying next to me and I begun to read. Then I came across a verse in Matthew 8.16-17 (NIV): "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases."
After reading these bible verses, I had to go to the bathroom! So I pulled myself to the toilet and when I came out I could not stop smiling:) I was completely well again! And it wasn't just the rib that had been healed, it was also the tail bone that I broke last winter and dislocated during Easter. My back, head, ankle and everything were completely restored :-)
I have never felt so good in my entire life! This made a big impression on me and I will never forget what God has done for me.
Testimony from MA 09
An important ministry that we do when we are out on mission trips is to visit homes where we see there is poverty and need. We work closely with the social workers in the villages to find these homes. During one of the home visits we did this summer we experienced something that made an impression both in the youth and in the locals in the village. When the youth knocked on the door of this house, a 13-year-old girl came to open the door. She had an 8-year-old brother who was home as well. These two were the only ones at home. Their father had abandoned them some years back and their mother, who is an alcoholic, had been away from home for some days. The children did not know when she would return.
As the youth enter into the house, they also meet something else. A wall covered with urine and the smell of feces. It is all over the furniture, clothes, blankets and curtains. This visit makes a huge impact on the youth and they decide they want to come back to the house the next day. This time more youth join in. They roll up their sleeves and work the whole day with mowing the grass around the house, throwing away broken things and washing the house. They also encourage the girl living in the house that if she tries to take care of the house and her little brother there is a bigger change for her to get herself a good job in the future. The children get to go with the youth to eat dinner and get a chance to clean up and wash themselves and the youth help them to find some new clothes. They also get to lead these two children to Jesus and give them a Latvian children Bible!
It was amazing to see the love these youth were pouring out to this little family and how they served them out of love! One of the youth said :"I have prayed a lot that God would be with the ones who are lonely and sad. But when I went to visit this family I realized that it was ME God wanted to use to do this! I am a tool God wants to use to comfort those who are sad and to be with those who are lonely!"
