Vision
The Discipleship Training School is the doorway into YWAM and into a world of missions. Through six intensive months we seek to raise up the students as they develop into radical Jesus followers with a heart for the nations. Jesus called us to disciple the nations – and that is exactly what a DTS is set out to do: raise up disciples who go out and make more disciples. Here at the Grimerud DTS we especially have a heart to reach out to the continent of Europe, as well as to unreached people groups.
To break it down...
We run our Discipleship Training Schools once or twice a year and each school lasts for six about months. One DTS starts in September every year. It has emphesiss on leader and missions traing from. Every other year in February/March we run an All Nations All Genarations DTS. The DTS expresses God's heart for unity across genarations and nations.
The first three months of the course is the lecture phase during which the students are blessed by some of the best teaching available on subjects like: the Gospel, following Jesus, “The Call 2 All” (Missions), evangelism, worship, creating with God, identity in Christ and many more. However, this phase is far more than merely theoretical. Throughout the DTS the aim is to see lives changed - knowledge that isn’t put into practice is useless. It’s all about impartation, and through a great environment, close follow-up and continual personal application the students truly get changed from the inside out. As the lecture phase comes to an end the students and staff get ready to head out on the mission field. Since we feel particularly stirred about Europe’s condition these days, several of the teams will go to European locations. We also have a heart for the unevangelized, and Grimerud has “adopted” an unreached people group in the far north of Thailand, the Shan people, where we also send teams yearly.
The school is distinctively multi-cultural. Both students and staff come from all over the world, and through the DTS we want to grab a hold of God’s heart for the nations!

The 'All Nations, All Generations' school
This DTS is a radical and different DTS. We believe that God loves unity, so we expect great levels of breakthrough as we unite around Jesus. This school will be run every other year and starts in March. We really embrace diversity, and wish to see this DTS fill up with youth, families and "older and wiser" people, from all nations! Is the God of the generations, the Lord of the Nations, calling you?
DTS - the original
DTS – the original is starting in the fall here at Grimerud! ! Jesus says: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”. If you want to know Jesus, wholeheartedly follow Him, and bring the gospel to the Nations, this school is for you!
We have a great line up of speakers, with a broad international experience. In October we’ll have a mini-outreach to Europe (RISK) together with all the other DTSs in Norway. We as DTS staff truly believe in running these schools - this is because we have seen so many lives radically changed and transformed as they’ve set aside 6 months to push in to God and His purposes. And remember, DTS is only just the beginning – because really, we all remain in Jesus’ lifelong discipleship training school.
