Team Honningdal has now returned from our trip to Thailand and want to share with you some of what we experienced. We have had an exciting and at times tiring journey, but everything has gone very well - both considering our long road-trips through chaotic traffic and the plane rides we’ve had. We did different kind of ministries during these 3,5 weeks : Jan did an amazing job with teaching at different meetings and seminars, the team led worship, sharing and street evangelism in different places around the country.
In Fang where YWAM has a school for shan-children, we had one day of teaching for the shan-staff there. They drank it all in and said they wished they could have heard much more. In the evening they used the opportunity to invite people to an open meeting/concert. After much worship, dancing and celebrating, one of the DTS students from Grimerud shared the gospel. 4 people, a man and one mother with two sons, responded and came forward to receive Jesus! That's wonderful!
In Bangkok we had two great teaching-evenings with worship-people from many different churches. We even had some wonderful musicians join us. We experienced a very strong presence of God and many were clearly touched by the Holy Spirit.
An opportunity opened up on the border to Laos (we could see Laos across the river), in a small town called Tha Bo. The town had 16.000 inhabitants and none known Christians. Saturday night we had a street-meeting in two markets and handed out around 1000 pamphlets with explanation of the Gospel, testimonies and an invitation to come to the church, which was planted the next day. An american has trained up two young men who have moved to Tha Bo to help spread God’s kingdom there, and one of them is now the pastor for the church there. The gospel was shared and an ”alter-call” given. In the night market there was a little girl only a couple of years old sitting on her fathers arm, she put up her hand. The father come forward with her and received Jesus himself and his two daughters were prayed for. He asked several questions indication that he was fully aware of what was going on.
What a mighty God we serve!
